What Is Family Constellations?

Unresolved issues from the past live on in us today. Everything in our family of origin that was left unattended, disrupts the flow of love carried across generations, ripples into the shadows of the family landscape, often emerging within us as illness, emotional difficulties, financial issues, addictions, lack of purpose and broken relationships.

Family Constellations is a unique, phenomenological approach that explores hidden dynamics that keep us from living authentic lives. It has the potential to touch us on a deep soul level, often healing old wounds, and leading to a transformation in our lives. This work reminds us of our interconnections and deepens our respect for the great mystery of life and the forces that shape our existence. Ancient cultures understood the importance of right relationship with the ancestors, the cosmos, the land, and all of nature. This work takes us back into interconnection and the knowing that we all belong.

Introduced to the West by Bert Hellinger and rooted in the wisdom and cosmology of the Zulu people of South Africa, it works to resolve deep emotional and relational patterns held within our ancestral lineages by bringing them into view and restoring balance and the flow of love.

Key Aspects of Family Constellations:

Systemic Perspective: It views individuals not in isolation but as part of a larger "family soul" or system, where current issues may stem from loyalty to ancestors or inherited burdens.
The Workshop Process: A client (seeker) presents an issue and chooses representatives from the group to stand in for family members (living or deceased). The facilitator guides the client to place these representatives in a "constellation".
Representative Perception: Representatives often experience physical sensations, emotions, or urges belonging to the family members they are portraying, providing insight into the hidden dynamics.
Resolution & Healing: Through movement, dialogue, and "healing sentences" orchestrated by the facilitator, the constellation aims to reveal a more harmonious order, allowing the client to let go of inherited pain and find resolution.
Core Principles: The work is based on principles such as Belonging (everyone has a right to belong), Order (hierarchy within the family), and Balance (between giving and taking), and Fate (The right to ones own destiny).

It Addresses:

Relationship struggles
Unexplained anxieties, addictions or emotional patterns
Family secrets, trauma, or unexpected deaths
Physical health issues, infertility
Difficulties with career or success
Money issues - Anything can be constellated

When: Saturday August 18th - Time: (6:30 to 9:30 pm)

Location: Ixchel Center - Hartsdale, New York

Exchange - $60 (only 2 to 3 per constellations per evening)

Last In Person Constellations in New York

September 18th

Please Note: There is space for only 2–3 constellations each evening.

If you would like to work on a personal issue, you will have the opportunity to raise your hand during the group and let us know. If more than three people wish to receive a constellation, we will allow the field to guide the selection by drawing names from a hat.

If your issue is not selected that evening, you may still experience profound healing. Whether you serve as a representative in someone else's constellation or simply witness the process, the work of the field often brings insight, healing, and transformation to everyone present.

Everyone who participates receives something meaningful from the experience.
